Analysis to meet The Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992 (Urban Waste Water Treatment) Regulations, 1994 and the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) – Clare County Council (August 2008)
The
Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC)
and
Environmental Protection Agency Act, 1992 (Urban Waste Water Treatment) Regulations, 1994
set out the timetable by which various forms of treatment and collection must to be provided for waste waters from different population equivalents. Efficient treatment of waste water is required under such legislation.
EURO environmental services were recently commissioned by a local authority to perform a wide range of environmental analysis on samples from Waste Water Treatment Plants throughout the county. This provided the consulting engineer and County Council with vital information with regard to treatment plant efficiency and allowed assessments to be made with regard to compliancy to relevant regulations.
EURO environmental services carried out the following analysis on a number of samples:
pH, Conductivity, Total Suspended Solids, Ammonia, BOD, COD, Total Kjeldahl Nitrogen, Total Oxidised Nitrogen, Total Nitrogen, Nitrite, Nitrate, Total Phosphate, Orthophosphate, Sulphate, Atrazine, Dichloromethane, Simazine, Tributyltin, Total Phenols, Xylene, Fluoride, Cyanide, Total Hardness and Metals(Copper, Arsenic, Chromium, Lead, Nickel, Zinc, Boron, Cadmium, Mercury, Selenium and Barium).
